Nolvadex and Breast Cancer
When it comes to breast cancer, a cure cannot come soon enough. Unfortunately, science hasn’t advanced that fast and the closest thing available are drugs that help to control the cancer and mitigate its spread. While this doesn’t guarantee that the women (and in some instances, men) with breast cancer will never have to worry, it does offer hope that they could come out of the ordeal feeling okay. One of the top of the line drugs which has been used to treat breast cancer is Nolvadex.
There are several reasons why it has become so popular for prescribing doctors. For one, it is one of the less expensive options; second, it is handled well by breast cancer patients (significant because many times cancer treatments leave the bodies they have helped save battered, withered, thin and otherwise worn down), and most of all effective in stopping the spread of cancer.
It is not a new drug; indeed, it has been more than three decades since it was first approved of by countries like the United States and England. It had been quickly embraced, after a scientific report revealed in the early 1970’s that it had a 22% response rate. Granted, that’s not 100% or even close to it, but it was a remarkable discovery. Now, all these years later, millions of patients have used Nolvadex. Its active ingredient, tamoxifen, is also effective in a preventative measure. All of this combines to make Nolvadex the preferred method of treatment for pre-invasive and early invasive breast cancer. Not only does it do well in addressing this specific cancer niche, but it helps other, related cancers from forming.
When it comes to cancer, every advancement can mean a saved life – a woman who is able to stay with her family, accomplish her goals and keep living another day. The development of Nolvadex has saved millions and tens of millions of women.
