All About Deltasone

You know that feeling when your muscles are so sore and then someone rubs them for you, and it’s a nice – if brief – moment of relaxation. If you do, you’re not the only one – millions of people visit massage therapists every day in order to achieve that same effect. Often, a good massage is enough to loosen up stiff muscles and alleviate a lot of pain… but in some cases, it is not. Some people are suffers of chronic pain – they feel it every day, all of the time. It can be caused by almost anything, from a car accident to bad posture to some kind of muscular disorder. Whatever the cause, the desire is the same: to make it go away.

In instances when a massage proves ineffectual at relieving this kind of pain, the steroid known as Deltasone may be prescribed in order to give relief. It is an anti-inflammatory, meaning it reduces the swelling in your muscles.

This relief, however sweet, does come at a price because there are several potential side effects. They include dizziness, exhaustion and general weakness.  The side effects are often minor, however, and the chance to be free from pain is often worth the accompanying headache or feeling of fatigue.

You should, however, take it easy on your muscles while you are on Deltastone. Don’t push them too hard and if you visit a massage parlor, inform them of your use so that they know not to do a deep tissue massage (which, while relaxing in the long term, causes bruising and pain in the short term).
